Q. What are the main beliefs of the Church?

A. We Believe:

• The Bible is the inspired and only infallible and authoritative written Word of God.
• There is one God, eternally existent in three persons: God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit.
• In the deity of our Lord Jesus Christ, in His virgin birth, in His sinless life, in His miracles, in His vicarious and atoning death, in His bodily resurrection, in His ascension to the right hand of the Father, in His soon personal return to this earth in power and glory.
• In the sanctifying power of the Holy Spirit by whose presence within (indwelling) the Christian is enabled to live a holy and victorious life.
• The only means of being cleansed of sin and receiving the free gift of eternal life (salvation) is through a changed heart and faith in the precious shed blood of Jesus Christ and accepting Him as your Personal Savior and Lord.

Q. Can anyone attend a Sunday Worship Celebration? Do I have to be a member of the Christian Community?

A. Everyone is welcome at our Sunday Worship celebrations. You do not need to be a member of our community to experience the presence of God with us. As our guest, you will not be singled out in any way, but we will warmly greet you.

Q. Do I have to dress up?

A. No. Our worship celebrations take place in a relaxed, casual atmosphere.

Q. Is this some type of cult?

A. Circleville Church is part of the Evangelical Presbyterian denomination established in 1981. We seek to make followers of Jesus Christ and to know God through study of the Bible and through reason and experience. For more info on the EPC,see “We Believe” below). Historically, Circleville Church began in 1841 as a Christian Community setting people free from every kind of slavery.

Q. You’re not going to ask me for money, are you?

A. We do not expect first-time guests to make a donation to our ministry. We do take an offering at every worship celebration to support the work of Circleville Church and other mission projects locally and around the world.

Q. I’ve been to church. There’s not a long boring sermon,is there?

A. Circleville Church Worship celebrations last about an hour with a brief message that relates God’s Biblical instruction to everyday life in a practical way.

Q. What do I do with my kids?

A. Children are welcome at Circleville Church Sunday celebrations. Also, child care is available in our nursery for children 4 years old and under. We also provide Children’s Worship during the message portion of worship, except on the second Sunday of the month when we encourage you to share a sacred meal experience with your children and the whole Circleville Church community. Ask our hospitality team if you need help or want to know how we can make your family feel more welcome.

Q. I've been a Christian for a long time, and I need some “depth” in worship. Is CEPC just for the spiritually curious?

A. Absolutely not. At Circleville Church, you will find people at various stages in their spiritual journey. Our worship celebrations are shared explorations of what God is saying to us today. Whether you’ve been going to church for years, or are just starting, there’s an opportunity for you to grow with us at Circleville Church.
